This year, NHS England has asked surgeries that are providing Flu and Covid vaccinations to start administering this from 3rd October 2024 for the following groups:
- Residents in a care home for older adults
- All adults aged 65 years and over and those who will turn 65 before 31st March 2024.
- All children aged 2 & 3
- Persons aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group
- Frontline health and social care workers
- Persons aged 12 to 64 years who are household contacts (as defined in the Green Book) of people with immunosuppression
- Persons aged 16 to 64 years who are carers (as defined in the Green Book) and staff working in care homes for older adults.
Previously, patients aged 50 to 64 were also able to be vaccinated. Unfortunately, this group of patients are not eligible on the NHS this year (unless they fall within the categories above).
As a practice, we will be co-administering both Covid and Flu. Those who are eligible will be contacted by us directly (either by text or phone) so please wait until you hear from us to book in. We will be running a series of afternoon clinics to get everyone done in the most efficient way possible, starting on Thursday 3rd October.
